Goals for June

I can't believe that it will be June 1st tomorrow. CRAZY how fast time is going by.  Since my time off is coming to an end my 1st goal will be to have my house organized much better by the time I go in to work on thursday.

1.  Have house clean and organized.  Keep it that way as I will try and have people over on my days off to enjoy the pool.  I think that I need to have some adult company on my days off.

2.  Meal prep and weekly menus.  This will help out with the eating and to keep the daily trips to the gorocery store to a minimum.

3.  Be more mindful of my spending habits.

4.  Eat Clean

5.  Exercise Daily

6.  Weekly WI's at WW

7.  Date night with my husbansd.

8.  Exercise with my little man and get his eating under control.  Keeping him somewhat busy should help with that

I can't think of any more right now.  Have a great Friday.  I am having lunch at Chuck's Burger Bar and then heading to TO to see Brad Paisley.  Very excited for a concert night :)

Getting back on track

I ate pretty good yesterday but I think my snack in the evenings is getting a little out of hand.  I need to cut back on the nuts and the peanut butter.  I need to have one or the other mixed with my yogurt and banana.  It actually is hurting my stomach by having too much of it.

I had a pretty good workout yesterday with my PT.  He took it kind of easy on me since I had ran the half the day before.  I have another session tomorrow and I am sure he won't be as easy on me.  I was going to take today as a rest day but I ended up running 6K instead.  It was a fast for me 6K.  I actually felt pretty good through the run until my stomach starting hurting at the very end of the run.  Not quite sure what is going on with the tummy issues.  My PT session is in the afternoon so I will try and do a 4K run in the morning after dropping the little man off at school.

I am really procastinating doing house work,  what else is new.  Hope every one is having a great tuesday.

The last 20

20 lbs is how much I have left to lose to be at a healthy weight for my height.  It may take some time to get the weight off but as long as the scale does not go up I will be happy.  I will eat as clean as possible and exercise daily.  I have been doing a lot of BLTs lately so I need to be more mindful of that.  The calories consumption can really increase with this mindless snacking.

I offically signed up for my next half marathon.  I signed up for the scotiabank half in Toronto in october.  I think that will be a crazy race.  I think that 12000 people can sign up for it.  Kevin and I will have to stay over night again for this race.  I really hope to get a hotel pretty close to the start line.  I really want to PR this race which means I need to do awesome with my eating and training.

Not much more time off before I head back to work.  It feels like it has been forever since I have worked.  I took so much time off to make sure my little man is ok and for me.  His illness took so much out of me that I want to make sure that I can give 100% to my work when I am there.  it will be kind of nice to be back at it again.

Post Race

So today was my 6th half marathon.  I actually did ok.  My time was 2:22:54.  The last 3 half marathons that I did I ran in 2:30 (I think).  The race was ok but what I found is for the parking it wasn't the best and the actualy course there were parts that we pretty narrow for all the runners.  I don't think that I would run that race again.  I am thinking about my next race though.  I am going to sign up for the scotia bank half in october.  I will havle to take 2 v-days though.  I have that time so I guess I will take it for that race.  I am going to work hard on improving my time. 

I have PT session tomorrow  Not quite sure how that will feel the day after my race.  I cancelled my last session so I am going to make sure that I go tomorrow. 

Tomorrow I will be getting back on track with the eating too.

Race Week

I can't believe that my 1/2 marathon is just a few days away.  I have done quite a few races I think for the time that I have been running.  This is my 5th 1/2 Marathon...my 1st was in Aug 2010.  I am feeling ok for this race.  I know that I won't PR it but I am feeling pretty good that it won't be my worst time.  I think for my next 1/2 marathon (hopefully we have one in my community over thanksgiving again...need to look in to that or I will have to find another one for the fall) I will work more on speed.  I am hoping that I won't drop my long runs below 10K.  I don't want to have to start over each time I start training for a race.  I am hoping to be able to do the around the bay next year.  I did it 2 years ago and I was not ready for it at all.  This year I am hoping that my training goes well and that I am at a good weight for me.

Speaking of weight, to be at that happy, healthy weight I have just 20 lbs left to lose.  I really do not want to put weight back on again.  That was such a dissapointment when the weight came back on and it has taken a lot of work to start getting it off again.  I was so miserable when I was eating unhealthy.  I MUST REMEMBER THIS.  I need to be a good example for my little boy.  I see really bad eating habits in him already...eating big portions and eating out of boredom.  I am trying to work on that.  He is going to have soccer 2 eveings a week, plus swimming, plus gymmies when school is done should be good for activity level...just really work on the food consumption. 

I have a couple more weeks til I go back to work and I really want to have my house in good shape by the time I go back.  I want to live in a clean and organized house.  That will mean weekly cleanings.  with my work schedule this seriously should be no problem.  I just need to get the big cleaning done in these 2 weeks and then the weekly cleaning won't be as bad.  We so need to purge big time.  Hopefully we will get some of that done this summer.

An Update

It had been a very long time since I have made a post.  The reason for that was my son became very sick back in April, the day before we were to fly to Florida and head out on our disney cruise.  I won't go into the details of his illness but am happy to report that he is doing very well with his recovery and it is almost a blessing that he doesn't seem to remember that we were supposed to go on the cruise and has not mentioned it at all.  He may recall it if he sees a disney commercial on TV but so far that has not happened.

While he was in the hospital I made sure to take care of myself.  This included eating well and still doing my training for my half marathon.  If I had not kept this up I am sure that I would have been more of a mess then I was.  It just goes to show how exercise and eating healthy sometimes are the treatment that we need to keep us mentally strong.

My race is just 12 days away and I actually feel ready for it.  I know I won't PR this race but i will be able to run it and not feel like I am dying.  I have taken a few weeks of from personal training because of what was going on so I am heading back for a session today.  I am sure tomorrow I won't be able to move but it will feel great getting back to it.  I was starting to see some changes from just 8 sessions so hopefully now I will be able to get to 2-3 sessions/week. 

Not much else to say for today.  Need to think of some meals and do some prep work.  I am off work until June 6th which is kind of nice after the nightmare we went through.  Time to regroup and get things back to normal.
