Sunny 14K

I did it.  I managed to do 14K this morning.  Just a few quick walk breaks as needed.  When I got home I stretched, went tanning (I know that this is not good but I like to have some color before going away) and then breakfast and now browsing the computer whie I drinking my coffee and watching my little man play x-box. 

when we get back from our trip I told my little man that we are going to cut back on junk food and he can only have it one day a week which will either be a friday night or saturday.  I know it will be a challenge but he needs to be careful...pretty sad saying that about a 7 year old but he loves his sweets/chips and i need to limit this consumption.

He is a pretty active kid so I need to make sure that we keep his activity level up.  Even while he is pretty active with jumping around etc. 

I have been doing pretty good with my eating.  I find though that I have been having more BLT's and I need to stop doing that.  I am pretty sure that I am tracking all my points good but I need to keep an eye on this habit.  Since I have eliminated all the crap from my diet I am not really craving it which is good.  I just need to avoid that stuff.  It will be interesting to see how I do on the cruise.  I just hope they have some healthy choices.  As long as I get my exercise in and don't over eat I should be ok.  My goal is just to not gain any weight and if I do, no more then 2 lbs!!!  Speaking of lbs I was down 1lb this week which bring my total to 15.8 lbs in 7 weeks but 19.2 lbs since november.  My next WI will be on sat before we leave.  I am hoping to get a 5 or 6k run in before we leave for the airport.  My long run will actually be on friday this week.  It will be a busy friday with the long run and then a lot of pre curise pampering for me :)  I am hoping for 16K on friday.  I am feeling pretty good with how my training is going.  I know I won't PR in my half that is coming up but I just hope to do better then how I did my last 2.

When we get back from the cruise the next big even that I need to get ready for is a coworkers wedding.  I want to be able to fit into a nice dress for this event.  It should be lots of fun with the girls.

Making Switches

So my long run for today has been postponed.  We have been having crap weather so I got on my phone and sent a text to a coworked and asked if she would work my day on sunday if I would do her night.  She agreed to it.  Now I just hope the sun will be out on that day so I don't regret making the switch.  I need to keep in mind that this is my last set before vacation (13 days off which will be awesome).  I called and changed my PT session on monday to 4pm.  Hate that time but would hate it even more if I missed one of my sessions. 

I will be doing a bit of cooking today.  I am going to make my roasted sweet potato soup.  I will get right non that as soon as I am done this post.  I should try and get to the mall to get C some shorts for our trip. 

we will be having a bit of a bday party for my wonderful husband today.  I actually made him cupcakes and have a pork shoulder in the crock pot for some pulled pork.  I just hope it turn out good.

Well must get to work on that soup and then have a quick shower and head to the mall.

Boxing Gloves

We are in the middle of having very crappy weather, rain/freezing rain which really sucks.  Thankfully the roads were not bad this morning but the weather was bad enough that I did not get out for the 5K run that I had wanted to do.  I am ok to run in the rain but this was very cold, windy rain which I am not ok with.  I just hope that things will clear up a bit for my scheduled long run tomorrow.

I headed to my PT session early and ended up doing some intervals on the treadmill for 20 min which left me a sweaty mess.  I was worked hard today and we tried something new today.  E brought out boxing gloves and I did some boxing moves.  I actually liked it.  My entire workout was awesome.  I love how in 30 min I feel like I have worked out for an hour.  I can't imagine working out for a full hour at the intensity he has me working out at.

I am baking today.  My husbands birthday is tomorrow and so I am going to make cupcakes (from a box) with buttercream icing (that I will make tomorrow).  I think that I will start making cakes/cupcakes for our bday's.  I want to get better at baking for the boys.  We are going to have pulled pork for his bday supper too which I am excited about.  I LOVE PULLED PORK!!!  I will just have mine with veggies though.

We went to see Great Big Sea last night which was a great concert.  It was great to see them again.  They are amazing singers, very entertaining.

Well I need to get ready to go soon to get my little man but a quick stop at the grocery store to get some butter and a cake decorating kit (we through out the one I had when we did the kitchen reno's...should not have done that.  Oh well.

stretching

The last 2 days my left hip has been bothering me.  I have had this problem before and it never really amounts to anything so I am hoping that is the case this time.  What I need to do is make sure that I do lots of stretching and maybe some icing at times.  I guess I could do that right now while I am writing this post.  Ice pack now on the hip.  I know that stretching is important so I need to promise myself that I will stretch after every run.  I have a PT appt this morning too.  I am excited for that.  I know it will kill me but it will be awesome after.

I had my weekly WI yesterday and was down 2 lbs for a total of 14.8 lbs (actually more then that if I go by my weight in nov...total of 18.2 lbs since then).  I am happy with how my weight loss is going.  I really would like to have 5 lbs off my the day we leave for the cruise.  I will just have to make sure I don't have any BLT's that I don't account for.

I really need to do some meal prep this week on my days off.  I don't really have anything made right now and I am having a hard time coming up with meal ideas.  I could make a couple of different soups...sweet potato soup and maybe some chicken chili.  I think I will buy a back of chicken breasts and cook them up in the slow cooker.  Have some to put in the sweet potato soup for protein and then some for chili.  I will buy the chicken tomorrow.

I am feeling so good mentally and hope this motivation continues and that I can make this a lifestyle change.  I have been totally avoiding having sweets which I think is the best decision for me as they seem to set me off into binging.

Sunny Saturday

I didn't get out as early as I had wanted to for my run this morning but I was out before 8am which is great.  My goal on weekend runs is to start them at 7.  It feels great to have it done so early.  I am actually quite happy with how my run went this morning.  It felt pretty good even though my time wasn't the best I am still happy with it.  I did 12K which is the longest i have ran in a long time!!  I called and changed my PT appts next week so that I can do my long run (14K) on friday since I will be working days on sat and sun.

I am working tonight and tomorrow night so I need to make sure that I have lots of snacks in my bag so I am not tempted to have unhealthy foods.  Tomorrow night my treat will be a skinny vanilla latte.

2 more weeks and we will be heading across the boarder and down to Florida and leaving sunday for our 1st ever cruise and a much anticipated cruise.  I need to pull out the kids summer clothes and figure out what we need to buy before we leave.  I think our youngest will be fine when it come to clothes but C might need a new summer wardrobe this year.  He is getting so tall and all his things last summber were pretty small then.  I am going to look on the american eagle website and see if they have some things that would be good for him for the trip.  I think that we all will be needing some new summer foot wear though.  I am really looking forward to getting away for a bit and having 13 days off.

Well that is all for now.  I should try and get some things done today. I am hoping for a nap at some point this afternoon.  I am thinking that since I did that long run I will get tired later.

Thankful for the day off

Even though my pay will reflect that I took today off it is nice to have today off.  I did a switch for someone back in Feb so I used today as the day that I would take off and they could work it for me.  I am happy I did it after the steady day we had yesterday.  Maybe my pay won't show it too much since I will have 7 shifts on the pay instead of 8. 

I really am having a lazy day and dont' feel like doing much.  I will call and make a tanning appt and then run out to walmart to pick up a few things and then do a couple of errands in town and I am sure it will be close to the time to get the boys from school.

I ran 4K this morning and it felt ok.  It took a little bit for my legs to warm up since I took yesterday off.  Tomorrow I need to make myself get up no later then 7 and head out for my 12K run.  I think i know what route I will take.  I am playing around some with my training schedule because of what I am working and then because we will be away.  It would be fun to do a long run when we get back from our curise down in Florida.  I will have to check things out and see how it looks for running around the hotel we are staying at.  I need to stick to the training while we are away even if it means running on a treadmill on the ship (that would be an experience to run on a treadmill on the cruise ship).

I think that i will go for a WI at weight watchers on monday after I get up and go for my run.  I haven't gone in a little bit and I do want to keep my membership there.  I need to be better about going for monthly WI's.  Plus I am going to need a new tracking book since I am almost done this one.  It is nice to see that for 5 weeks I have been doing awesome with the tracking.

I can't get over how great I feel since I have been eating healthy and exercising regularly.  I do need to keep doing this since my mood is so affected when I put crap food into my body.  I think everyone around me can tell that I feel better when I eat this way.

A Rest Day

So tomorrow will be an offical rest day from exercise.  I think it is a much needed one since I haven't had one in a few days.  I ran 4K this morning before work and just had my 6th PT session and am still loving it.  I always feel like I am working so hard and my trainer pushes me which is great.  On friday I will go to the gym and do some strength training but I know it won't be the same without my trainer.  I just have to work as hard as I can.  I need to make up a workout to do and make sure that I stick with it.  I will pull some things from the workouts that J has given me and go with that.  At least I have the 12 week plan she gave me for back up when I am done my PT sessions.  I wish we were rich enough that I could continue with my trainer but we aren't (unless we win the lottery tonight or friday night).

I worked today but actually got to come home early which was nice.  Coming home early on a short day is awesome!!!!

I am going to have to eat supper soon I am getting pretty hungry.  The boys aren't home yet but I don't think I can wait for them.

Awesome Run

this morning after dropping my little man off at work I went for a 6K run.  It was one of my best runs that I have had in a long time.  I did it in 40:15 which is so close to what I used to run 6K in when I was at my peak.  My legs felt awesome the entire time.  I just need to work on my breathing.

Last night I had fish tacos which were pretty yummy.  I need to try and eat fish a bit more often.  I am still trying to come up with food ideas.  I have some recipes but for my 2 days at work I will have to wing it.  If I do get that shift off on friday I will try and do some cooking then.

I managed to get most of the laundry done yesterday just one more load of blankets to try and need to fold my uniforms for tomorrow.  Then I need to put all the laundry away.  I need to make myself do it.  I am happy with myself for having all the dishes in the dishwasher or washed and put away.  It was awesome to wake up this morning to a relatively clear counter.

Well that will be all for today.  I have a 4K run to do before my 8hr day tomorrow and after work I have a training session at 5 and then home.  Thursday is actually a rest day when it come to exercise.  I am hoping to make it to the gym on friday.  I will let you know how that goes.

April

Another month behind us.  I just can't believe how fast time going.  At least with this new month I can happily say I am down 12.8 lbs!!!!  It has taken a long time before I could write something like this.  I finally feel like my eating is under control again.  It has meant that I have given up a lot of foods but it is something that I have to do.  When I feel that I am a lot stronger I will have the occasional treat.  I am thinking the first place that this will happen will be the wedding I am going to in May.  I am even going to try and avoid sweets while we are on our cruise.  I still have 31.8 lbs to lose.  When I actually look back to the heaviest I had been since I lost all the weight before was in november and I have lost 16.2 lbs since then which makes me very happy.

I have so much  laundry to do that when I get back from my PT session I better get started on it.  I have a couple of recipes that I will be making so I have some food stock piled.  I already have an idea for my lunch today with left over turkey, cranberry sauce and I will be getting some goat cheese which I think will go awesome with this creation I will be making.  I found if from cleaneating.com
