Days off…a great thing

Well the last 2 weeks have been so busy.  Between the nashville trip, doing an OT shift, and then a pick up at the beginning of my set I can say that I am really looking forward to my days off.  I actually marked myself off in the schedule so I won't be called by work if they are looking for OT.

Exercise has been really good this week and mostly independent because of what I have been working.  Just not able to make it to Jills classes so I went to the gym instead and really feel like I had great workouts…especially yesterday because I had time to do some intervals on the treadmill after my strength training.

I had my weekly menu done for the week and meal prep done which made it very easy to gather my foods for my 5 shifts.  Tomorrow will be the day that I plan my menu for next week.  I only work 3/4 of my next shifts…took a v-day on friday for the LUKE BRYAN concert.  This will be the 4th time I have seen him and he does such an amazing job each time that I am so excited to see him on friday evening.  Tonight we are going to friends house and I will be having some wine.  I need to watch how much I consume.  I really want to be feeling ok to go and workout at Jills tomorrow.  I am hoping to get 4 workouts starting tomorrow out at her place.

I went for a 6K run when I got up this afternoon and it was my best time yet for the 6K.  I even had a few walk breaks in there when I felt I needed them which really helped me be able to run a bit faster in between the breaks.  I think I will try for 7K next saturday (so I will have to watch what I eat/drink at the concert).

My WI yesterday was amazing….I did have some stomach issues when I first got home from work so I am not sure if a lot of it was water weight but I am still going to go with that result.  I was down 4.6 lbs for a grand total of 42 lbs.  That is so crazy.  I tried some clothes on and even just in the last 2 weeks those clothes are much looser.  I actually asked the person in charge of the scrubs at work to put me down a size.  I am for some reason not quite ready to go to that size but I happen to have a pair at home with me so I will try them on and see what I think.   I have 17.2 lbs to go until I reach my goal weight.  Even if I went with the weight on the scale today I am still under 20 lbs to goal which is such an amazing feeling.  When I started this journey in January it seemed so far away and really I have done so well and am feeling so amazing.  I need to remember this and not fall off the wagon like i did last time.  I love exercising and feeling strong while doing it.  My big focus last time was on the running when I reached a good weight but I am determined this time to do strength training 3-4x/week and as many of Jills classes as my schedule allows.

On my days I will for sure have to do some major house cleaning.  Not much was done since getting back from Nashville.  Just too busy with work to do it.  I will work on a to do list today. (I really don't want to be hung over tomorrow!!!!)

I want to try and come up with some new meal ideas.  I made a tuna salad with tortilla strips and had some lettuce with it and it tasted amazing.  Tuna is one of those things that I like but if I eat it too often I get turned off.  I hadn't had it for ever and I think that is why it tasted so good.  That is what I am having again tomorrow for lunch.  Things like that are good for lunches in the summer.  I need to start writing my recipes in my book so I will have them at my fingertips and rotate through them.  Pinterest is such a great site for healthy recipes too.  I want to utilize everything possible to help my maintain this healthy lifestyle.

Well have a great weekend everyone :)

weekend musings

I cannot believe how nice the weather has been since getting back from Nashville.  It was so warm when we were there that I was worried about how the weather would be when we got back.  Thankfully the weather has been in the teens everyday since being back.  Today is amazing sunny and warm…yup I will take that!!

Nashville was everything and more that I had hoped for.  I did the best I could with eating and managed to get some exercise in.  I did a couple of treadmill interval workouts and I know I did a ton of walking and dancing.  When we got back I got right back into my healthy habits with eating and exercise.

I did an OT shift on thursday night which kind of threw things off a bit with what I had planned for my workouts but I worked with it.  Things are not always going to go as planned and I am becoming more adaptable with these little changes in my schedule and not letting it make me fall of my healthy habits.

Exercise:
this week I have done running, yoga and a couple of classes at Jills and one strength training workout at home.

Food:
Made a menu and followed it.  When I felt like I was still hungry I have started to eat a boiled egg which helps.

Weight:
so when I got back from Nashville I weighed myself and was not surprised to be up a bit.  With my eating good and exercise I did my official WI today and was down 0.8 lbs from my WI before nashville.  I have lost a total of 37.4 lbs since Jan 1st.  I feel amazing.

I have a stag and doe tonight which should be fun.  I have to behave myself as I want to run 6K in the morning.

Have a great weekend

another goal met

Last night I could not get myself feeling satisfied when it came to food.  I had my usual snack but I still felt so hungry.  I ate a lot more in the evening and between the food and weather I feel so hungover today :(

I got up early and headed out for a run at 7 am.  The one day I could sleep in and of course I wasn't able too.  I guess a week of waking up at 5 didn't help.  Technically I slept about a little over an hour longer then I had been all week.  I did a 6K run.  I haven't ran that distance in a long time and really it felt pretty good.  Very happy that I was successful with this run.

Up until last night my eating has been good even though I had to buy 2 meals through the week.  It is amazing when you eat 99% home cooked meals how different boughten meals taste.  I much prefer the home cooked meal :)

I am pretty sure that I have enough food to do me until we go on our trip for myself.  I will have to buy stuff for the boys but I am good for me.  Speaking of the trip I met my weight that I wanted to be for this trip.  I had a great week for loss…3.6 lbs which totally shocked me as I was and still am feeling a little bit bloated but I was 159.4 lbs!!!!!  that is a total of 34.8 lbs since Jan 1st.  I am feeling great.

I have a lot of exercise sessions scheduled before we leave and I really hope that I get to all of them.

I can't believe 3 more sleeps until we leave.  It seemed like it was going to take forever to get here since we started planning a long time ago but finally our trip is just around the corner :)  just one more shift tonight too and then off for a week.
