Bread and Honey :)

This morning we got up nice and early so that we could get to my 15K race. It was a beautiful morning when I got up at 5:30 but I knew that it meant it would most likely be quite warm for the run. That is ok though after all the cool weather I have ran in.

The course had a few more hills then I expected but overall I loved the course and would probably do this race again. I did it in 1 hr and 40 min which I am happy with that time. I even had a few walk breaks. The one things I did not like that there were no porta pots along the race route. Thankfully I did not really have to go.

Now that I have this 15K under my belt I am contemplating what to do with my long runs while training for my half marathon in October. It is a bit soon to start training but since I do have 15K done I think I will make my long runs that distance or more and just keep doing longer distances. Maybe some longer runs will be half marathon or more distances. I would love at some point get to 30K before the nice weather runs out so that i know I can do it and sign up for around the bay. if I know I can run 30K then my focus for that race in march will not be so much on the distances as more focus on hills. I will keep doing the longer distance once a week but it will be nice to keep steady with a lot of mileage.

I guess my main focus now is to keep eating as healthy as I can. I know the 2 nights at work where we had a bistro and ordered out one night was a little more indulgence then I should have had but I will just carry on. I have 2 nights that I am eating out this coming week too. I just need to make sure that I watch what I eat during the day and for the rest of the week.

Have a great day everyone.
