So I had a great time in vegas, celebrated my 37th b'day yesterday and now it is time to get serious about getting back into shape. I will not wait until the new year to do it. This is my new year. Back to tracking what I eat and exercising regularly. I had all intentions of going to bootcamp this morning but as I was going to tim hortons before taking the kids to school I had a feeling that I had a flat tire...I was right. I had to park the car and head back to the house to get the truck then take the kids to school. by the time that was all done I would have been quite late for bootcamp. I hope to get a mini bootcamp done here at the house. I should make a plan to do it at 12:30. I will add to this post if I actually do it.

almost time for Vegas
3 more sleeps and it will be time for Vegas. I am so excited about going. I am going to try and use this trip to get my focus back as it will be some me time.
I am going to have to be very organized when I come back from this trip and use my days off wisely as I am going to be working lots and will have to get ready for c-mas. I can see some to do lists in my future.
I went for a run this morning. My first run in 5 days (I did have 2 hour long bootcamps in those 5 days so I wasn't totally like a slug). It went very well. Mentally I felt great and my legs felt awesome. I am going to run in vegas. I probably will run 2 days and if possible hit up the gym one day and maybe even the day we leave if it is open early. I already told the queen that I would be doing this while we were away so I wouldn't feel as guilty about indulging ;)
Another thing that is going to get back on track 100% (or at least try) is following the WW program with the clean approach. I need to do this for me.
Well I must finish my coffee and go get my money changed for monday. Did I mention how excited I am about going to Vegas :) I LOVE VEGAS

Beautiful Saturday
What is left of it after sleeping until 1pm. I worked last night so I slept the morning away and finally got out of bed at 1. I could see that it was warm out based on the thermometer outside our kitchen window and from asking my husband. I set out to run in a tank top and capris. I can't believe that I am still able to run in those clothes on Nov 12th!!!! That is so awesome. I really, really hope that it means that we are going to have a mild winter. I was planning on doing just 3K as I am going to run hopefully 10K tomorrow but I ended up running 4K. I did have a small break at the top of a hill but stopped my garmin so I had 4K of actual running. I guess my head must have been in the right place.
Last night I really had the munchies but did ok. I was going to get a muffin but i didn't see any that would be a 10 in my mouth so I had a lara bar and a small choc milk. Both tasted so good. I did end up getting a banana nut muffin from Tims on my way home this morning. I can just feel that I had something that wasn't really a healthy choice. Tonight will be all about making healthy choices if I feel snacky. I don't think that I will though.
I could have worked an OT shift tonight but after this set I really did not feel like working.
I am going to have a chicken pizza on Naan bread. That is always a good post 2nd night supper :) I had my visalus shake after my run. Still loving the stuff and it does make me feel better.
I need to get the dishes done that accumulated after working nights. Just going to chill tonight with the kids.

my 4th day
This is day #4 of trying hard to stick to the WW program and eat clean before heading to vegas. I actually have been doing awesome. I feel great. My eating has been great and I have ran for 3 days and did an hour long bootcamp class this morning :) I need to keep remembering this especially when working tonight and tomorrow night. Putting healthy foods into my body has been making me feel so much better.
I am planning on doing a longish run on sunday. Not quite sure how long it will be. I hope to do at least a 10K. One thing I need to work on with my shorter runs is not taking walk breaks. I know I can push myself through a short run but i find mentally I have been lacking the motivation. I give up to easy and take a walk break. I used to be able to run these runs with no walk breaks at all. I used to do my longer runs this way too but I know with the weight I put on that it may not be possible. I have 2 races coming up in march and I need to start training both physically and mentally for these races and eat as healthy as possible.
Well it is almost time to get my little boy so that is about all I have to say.

starting over
As my previous post this morning I talked about how I need to just do something about my eating habits etc to get back to my healthy weight. I did just that. I was going to use today as a rest day as my plans for bootcamp had to be changed but I just got back from running 6K :) I love running but since putting on the extra weight it is a bit harder, and the fact I haven't been putting good fuel in my body doesn't help either. This run was awesome though and made me realize that I will do it. Running is so good for me both physically and mentally. I need to really show my body so much more respect as it is capable of doing such great things :)
Do something about it
Things are just feeling so out of control lately but you know what. i am the only one that can get that control back. I need to stop talking about it and actually work towards getting that control back in my life.
On saturday I ran 2 races a 5K and 10K and am happy to report that I actually ran pretty good in them considering that I haven't been taking great care of my body for almost a year now. The happiest I felt was when I was eating healthy. I know that what you eat shouldn't control your emotions but it really does. When I eat healthy I feel in control and powerful but as soon as I put junk in my body I feel so awful. Why put junk in your body if it makes you feel crappy???? IT NEEDS TO STOP
That is all I have to say. 2 weeks til vegas. Perfect incentive to get my act together.

I was doing well
and then my sons halloween candy was calling my name last night. I couldn't stop at just a couple either. Oh well, I can't dwell on what I ate but need to focus on what I will eat.
I am trying to decide if I am going to do both races tomorrow or just the 10K. I am actually feeling a lot better today so I think that I will do both. I was going to run today but really if I am going to be doing 2 runs tomorrow I better stick with rest today. My left hip is feeling a bit tight so I better take it easy today. This afternoon I am going to go and pick up my race kit. I am kind of glad the race isn't until 10 and 11. Not quite sure what I will eat in the morning but I know I will not have any peanut butter as that was awful burping that up the last time I ran ;)
I will let you know how things go tomorrow.

Visalus
So i ordered this new shake powder called visalus. I was able to get 7 free samples from someone for ordering through the person she asked me too and I have had it the last 2 days. I must say that it is really yummy. I am using it for breakfast and adding banana to it. One thing that I like about it is adding milk to my diet again. I will be honest and tell you that I wasn't really drinking milk but getting my calcium from yogurt and I didn't even have that every day. I think that I will be buying a lot more milk now ;)
I have ran the last 2 days but with my cold it has been pretty hard. i went for a walk today, plan on doing a 3 or 4K run tomorrow and then on saturday I have a 5 and 10K race. I am just hoping to feel better by then. I have to go get my race kit tomorrow. I know that it won't be very good runs as the last couple of weeks I haven't been running as much but I am planning on getting out on the roads 5x/week to run and then ST 2-3x/week. The ST will be either bootcamp or going to the gym. I need to start working on getting in awesome shape for March when I plan on doing a half marathon and then the around the bay 30K. i really need to but my clean eating in full gear now as I know that helps with my running.
Well I have so much cleaning to do tomorrow and sunday and monday on my days off. Should be fun but i need to get it done as I want my house in tip top shape before Vegas

Nov 1st
Wow time is sure flying by and the weight is still there. 3 more weeks until Vegas so I need to get myself together. Not quite sure why i keep sabatoging myself but I will keep trying. The last couple of weeks I have been slacking in both eating healthy and exercising so what better way to start the month but to go for a run and attempt to track my food intake (tonight we are having a bistro so I will make the smartest choices possible and not eat to the point of discomfort).
I just ordered some visalus. I have been hearing so much about it and I am going to give it a try. I usually am not one to try new fads but I did enjoy this shake and we will see how it goes. I know I can stop it at any time I want and it does make for a quick breakfast which will be so awesome for workdays and after a morning workout. If I am spending that kind of money on a product I need to be serious about it.
Well I should get going and read some blogs and then go get my son. This day is going by so fast.
