AHHH :(

My appetite or mood is getting the better of me but at least I am not eating large amounts of unhealthy foods. I have already had so much to eat this morning but I am feeling better and will settle back into a somewhat normal routine. I did not sleep well last night, slept through my alarm which made me miss bootcamp and I really just wanted to stay in bed but had to take the kids to school. On sunday my entire running plans had changed. I was called sat afternoon after I had already ran my 11K and asked if I could be the 3rd runner in a realy as one of the team members was sick and could not run it. I was a little leary about doing it but since we were not running for a prize I said I would and had a great time. I did the middle portion of the 3 person relay (30K in total). I did my 10 K in just a little over an hour :) Very happy with that time and felt great after the run. I managed to do 21K in 2 days :) This weekend I have 16K do try and do. I am pretty sure that I will be able to do it. I just hope we have nice weather for it. i can't believe that in less then 2 weeks K and I will be on the beaches in punta cana. I am going to stop preasuring myself to be at a certain weight by then and just focus on eating healthy and exercising so that I feel good when I am there. When we get back I will get my focus back on losing the weight that I have put on over the past few months. I have a Dr's appt in a bit so i better get going.

Around the Bay

I think that it was last fall that I signed up for the 30K protion of around the bay then in december when I started training for it I realized that my knee was giving me problems and I wasn't able to run more then 8Km's without it bothering me. I realized that I would probably not be ready for the 30K at some pt in January and sent off an e-mail asking if I could move down to the 5K. I am currently training for a 1/2 marathon in may and my knee is great. I am happy in someways that I took this knee pain seriously and got treatment for it.

I am a bit sad that I won't be able to run the 30K with all those other runners but I know that I will be able to do it at some point (hopefully next year). I should be happy to be able to run at all.

Speaking of running. I had all intentions of running my long run today but my bed felt so much better. I am going to do things a bit different this weekend. I am just going to focus on getting the KM's in which means 21 in 2 days and I have done 11 already. I will do 5 early in the morning before I head down to find parking for the race and the remaining 5 will be when I do my race. Next weekend I will make sure to get up early enough to do the full 16K ;)

long run and short run

I know I probably will regret doing this but tomorrow I will be doing my long run (16K) to keep on schedule but on sunday I will be doing a 5K race (around the bay). I just hope that my legs don't give out on me when I am doing the 5K race ;) The reason I am doing this is that I actually have the whole weekend off and I love doing my long runs on saturdays and I am going to stick with it. I was supposed to do the 30K around the bay but due to the injury I had after my last 1/2 marathon I eventually realized that my training would not have me ready for this race and dropped down to the 5K. I am currently training for my next half which will be May 15th. I am a bit ahead of schedule which I guess is good in a way since I am not sure how much running I will do in punta cana and running for drinks does not count ;)

I won't talk to much about it but i kind of fell off the wagon yesterday but I have pulled myself back on. What I have learned from this is that I really do become nasty, emotional, guilt ridden etc...all the feelings I am sure that an addict has after a binge session of what they are addicted too. Moving on...

I had an awesome bowl of oatmeal this morning. I am not going to have anything too heavy today and I will do my best to stick to my meal plan that I have already tracked in my book. I was going to WI tomorrow but I am going to put it off and go next friday. 2 weeks and 3 days until we go away. Must stay on the wagon so that I don't feel a bloated emotional mess because of what I have been eating (I will have another reason to feel that way...did not plan my vacation very well if aunt flo will be going with us)

Well I need to finish checking things out on the computer and then hop in the shower. Hoping to get some work done around the house this weekend before I head back to work monday. only 2 more sets until I have 2 weeks off :) Love my job but excited for some time off.

Since saturday...

I have been eating healthy :) 3 weeks today we are going to Punta Cana and I am doing my best to stay focused with my eating those 3 weeks and hope that it will continue. when we are away I want to enjoy my food and feel great after...not that horrible full feeling that i get when I eat too much.

I have been doing good with the exercise too. I ran 5K yesterday and today I went to bootcamp and hot yoga. Tomorrow when I get up I am planning on running 7K. My muscles are feeling my bootcamp workout ;)

Nights seems to been my issue when I am at work so I am going to work so hard to stay focused.

Well off to work I go.

A new day

I was up nice and early this morning and thanks to our babysitter I was able to get my long run in :) I did 14K, and am quite pleased with how the run went. I gave me the motivation that I needed and hopefully it will keep up. Everything felt great about the run except I had to use the BR so bad and I had to wait until I was almost done to actually find one that was open :



I am so hungry right now. We took the kids to see a late afternoon movie so here it is almost 8pm and I am just getting my supper ready. The good news is that it is still kind of light out.



I start back to work tomorrow so will be working on getting my next 2 days worth of meals made up. The good thing is it is more putting them together then actually making them.

Hump day...

I haven't been able to refer to wednesdays as hump days since I was going to school. I will be working tonight, off for 2 then back for my regular set on saturday. I will be doing my long run on friday as I am working the weekend.

I am just finishing up my 2nd pan of turkey burgers. I hopefully will have enough to do me until we go away :) Yesterday was an ok day with eating but could have been better. Today has been spot on so far but I am working nights. I need to pace myself with snacks and make sure to only eat if hungry. It usually isn't my first night that gives me problems but my 2nd night. I need to remember that I don't have much time until we go away so I need to eat perfect.

Keep up the journey to healthy. Don't put crap in my body!!

Starting today

OMG how many times have I said that but after how I felt yesterday and still feel today I need to be serious about it. Of course I am talking about my diet. I have been putting so much crap and way to much at a time into my body and it really is taking a toll on me so I need to step back and just start over. I need to forget about where I was (or put it in the back of my head) and focus on just being healthy again. Healthy eating, exercising regularly and maybe one day I will be back to where I was. It will take time and that is why I am putting it in the back of my mind. It won't happen overnight even though I would love it too that is not reality. I really do have a problem with wanting things right away and that is why I have these little binge sessions. I need to be healthy and make that my priority. I love feeling althletic but need the proper nutrition to go a long with all the running etc that I do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started off my mornign with my fave breakfast. Banana, chocolate and pb steel cut oats :) That should keep my full for a while. I so wanted to get a 6K run in this morning but I felt so gross when I woke up and had a headache so I went back to sleep instead. I hope that K will be back early enough tonight so that I can get out and do it. I will have to see about maybe someone looking after M on friday so that I can do my 14K on that day as I am working days sat and sun. I have my sitter coming this afternoon so I will see about her coming early on friday so that I can get it done or maybe ask the inlaws. If they aren't able to do it my long run this week will not be done :(

I am hoping to get some house work done on my days off but the thing that sucks is that I have an extra shift right in the middle (tomorrow night) of my days off. I am helping someone out so that is why I have that extra shift.

Well I am going to finish reading some blogs and then start tidying up the kitchen.

4 weeks :)

I am happy that tomorrow it will be just 4 weeks until I am in the sun so for the next 4 weeks I need to jazz it up 10 lb bootcamp style. I will work out extra hard, I will eat clean (remembering that this is my only body and treat it with rexpect) and try to stay positive!!! i want to look and feel great on this trip.

I did 12 K yesterday which means that I signed up for the goodlife 1/2 marathon in May. It will be my 3rd one. I can't believe that I am saying that. I need to keep puting great fuel in my body while training for this race too. I am excited about running it. I just hope my knee will hold out for this race. I did a 60 min moksha flow yoga class too which always feels great. i think they turned down the humidity level in the class though because the last 2 times i have been there I haven't been sweating as much (still sweating but not like earlier in the week).

A Reminder ;)

I must always remember to check the volume of the alarm clock. I rolled over and looked at the time and saw it was 6:30. I was planning on getting up at 5:30 so that I could make the early morning bootcamp class but that did not happen. So instead of bootcamp I went for a lovely 6Km run after dropping off my little man at school. After I had my shower I had the rest of my banana - walnut pancakes...still as yummy as last night :)

I have a waxing appt today and then after that i head down to moksha yoga for a 60 min moksha class, come home and have some lunch and then go and pick the kids up from school. I can't beleive that this is my last day off and tomorrow I head back to work. Those 5 days went by so very fast.

pancake tuesday

and of course I did not get a picture of my food as I was so hungry ;) The pancakes I made were awesome. The recipe I used was actually for pumpkin pancakes that I got off another blog but adapted the recipe to make banana pancakes :)

I apolgize for not knowing where I got this recipe from and hope no one is offended by me posting it. I am not claiming that it was my own recipe.

banana pancakes

1/2 c whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 mashed banana
1 egg white
1 tbsp honey (or agave nectar...not sure if you even need this...will leave it out next time)
chopped walnuts
1/2 c of milk of choice (i used 1% as that is all we have in the house)

mix flour, soda and powder
in another bowl add wet ingredients and nuts
combine both mixtures...mix until just blended

pur batter in a non-stick skillet or griddle over med heat sprayed with cooking spray. Enjoy with topping of choice :)

I really did enjoy these pancakes and have enough for tomorrow morning. I think that these will be made for my cooler when working days. I can have 4 small ones and have 2 before going to work and then 2 when we have our first break at work. I have always found pancakes very filling.

missed a workout

Well I was planning on going to bootcamp this morning but I opted to stay in bed instead. I did do something different though. I went to a 75 min moksha flow class at 7:15 pm. I could not believe how hot it was. I was so sweaty and found it really hard but when it was done I felt awesome. So glad I did this class. I am hoping to be able to go to the 60 min moksha flow tomorrow. I love the flow classes :)

My food has been spot on. I did use my AP's and 1 FP today. I need to go to bed now though so I don't eat anything else.

10 km

Yesterday was a great day for exercise for me. I ran 10 Km. it was a pretty good run but it had snowed the night before so my legs really felt worked out which I guess is a great thing. My knee at the end was starting to act up but I did some of my yoga breathing to what I was feeling and it actually helped. Then mid afternoon I did a 75 moksha yoga class. Again a great workout.

I actually stayed OP today and of course I used my AP's cause I was starving from all the exercise I did :)

Tomorrow I will be heading to ww to weigh in. I know I will be up from the last time I went but the key is that I am going and that I am back on track.

36 days...

That is how many days until we go on our trip and that is how many days that I will be accountable on my blog for what I eat and the exercise I do. Basically 5 weeks until we go. I want 10-15 lbs gone before I hit the beaches of punta cana. On monday I am going to WW to get weighed. Just because I am going on monday does not mean I am waiting to eat healthy.\

So when I got up after working nights I did a 4K run. Tomorrow will be a 10 K run and hot yoga :) I have gone 2 days without doing hot yoga and am missing it. I am going to go every day possible that I can go. It really makes me feel awesome :)

My food intake for today will be a bit different since I slept most of the day. I had my typical bowl of oatmeal which I love. Supper will be a salad with leftover taco meat, sweet potato, salsa and some goat cheese. My treat for tonight will be banana softserve with peanut butter and 1 pc of dark chocolate.

Well I must be signing off to do some much needed house work. My goal by tomorrow night is to have all the laundry done and put away :)
