I did my 10K run today and I feel really good about how the run went. I was expecting that it would take me about an hour and 10 min but i did it in 1:09min. I felt stronger then I have in a while and it makes me think that my running legs are coming back :)
I had my WI today and am down 2.8 lbs from last week. I have lost 12.8 lbs in 5 weeks which I am happy with. I am really hoping to reach the 150's before we go on our cruise. I will make some tweaks with my snacks that I have and try really hard to do the no carbs for supper. I am thinking that my snacks will be boiled eggs, fruit, vanilla greek yogurt with fruit, veggies and hummus. I will try to limit the kashi bars to just my afternoon snack when working days. I will avoid them on nights and on my days off. I need to spend the day today coming up with some ideas for my meals for the next 3 weeks to cook them in bulk. I found some ideas on pinterest that I will give a try and I have a new recipe book that I am hoping I can get a few ideas from.
I have a PT session tomorrow and am looking forward to it. I hope I get my butt handed to me once again.

Fun with Friends
Yesterday I actually a great time socially (maybe a bit too much since I didn't do my long run this morning). It started off with watching my husbands first hockey game after supper and then coming home for some wine, having a couple of girls stop by before heading back to the arena for the 2nd game (which my husbands team lost). Then we watched the final game which was pretty good. Then the party started which included food, drinks and a live band. I was good and did not touch the food (well I had a couple of celery sticks but that was it), had a few beer and danced a bit. There were actually quite a few people that I knew there and a lot of the people that had gone to vegas were there too so it was nice to see everyone again and talk about going again this year (very excited about this). We stayed until it was done and then headed home. I was not feeling so hot this morning so I won't be doing my 10K run until tomorrow. I wish I had done my run today but there is no way I was feeling good enough to do it.
I am hoping the weather will hold out until I do get my 10K in tomorrow. It is supposed to rain. The last 2 days we have actually been able to crack open some of the windows which is so awesome to let the fresh air flow through the house. I always love being able to do that after the winter months. It will be nice when we can leave them open all day but right now it is still a bit cool out to leave them open for too long. I need to do some spring cleaning too. Maybe that is something I can do on mon and tues before I head back to work.
Not much planned for today. My husband is playing some more hockey and the kids have been doing some outside which makes me happy. I am actually the one being a slug today ;)

A weekend off
I am so glad that I did a switch to have tonight off. I actually did not mind doing 3 days 1 night this set. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Next week I was supposed to work 5 shifts but now it will be 2 days, one off and my 2 nights. Not to bad. I hopefully will get another PT session in that week.
I am really hoping to run 10K tomorrow. I am going out tonight for my husbands end of season hockey party and I know I will have some drinks. I just need to not go crazy so I can do the run in the morning. I am hoping that on sunday we can go to church. They are doing an Easter production and I am interested in seeing it.
Last night was snack night at work and again I avoided the temptation. I actually almost had some trail mix but I stopped myself. Yay me :)
I am going to have a taco salad for supper tonight. I am looking forward to that and then taking the boys to see there dad play hockey.

The Burn
This morning I almost cancelled my PT session but I didn't and am so glad I went. It was a great workout. The type of workout that you feel the burn in you muscles that kills while doing the exercise but feels great after. I did take the morning off from running though. I will run when I get up tomorrow and then depending how I feel on saturday I may do my long run or save it til sunday. I really would rather do it on saturday(party to go to friday night so it will all depend on what my drinks make me feel like).
I got the cookbook in the mail yesterday from Allison (simply for life consultant). I am going to try some of the recipes in it. I don't have much left from the food that I made a few weeks ago so I need to do some bulk cooking this weekend. I should count how many shifts I have until we go on our trip and have enough food for all those days made and in the freezer for easy access.
Tonight at work there will be a bistro going on and lots of snacks so once again I need to make sure I bring lots of healthy choices for myself.
Well I should go and search for some recipes and make a grocery list.

Around the Bay
I can't believe that after running 9K yesterday and being up so late last night that we went downtown and I ran my 5K race. I actually felt really good with this run. My time was 33:35 (according to my garmin...not bad considering i was not sure I was going to run it).
Thinking of ideas for my meals is hard. I am trying to come up with healthier choices and not having much luck.

9K
Someone woke us up pretty early this morning which meant I was out just a little bit after 8 for my long run. I had 9K scheduled today and I did it. The run actually went a lot better then I had expected. Now if I don't make my race tomorrow I won't feel too guilty about it.
I thought my legs would be really sore today but it is my upper body that took a beating yesterday. my chest, biceps, and triceps are pretty sore. I am loving my PT sessions and really wish I could go more often but I know that each will will vary because of my schedule. I still have 33 sessions until August which is awesome.
Well I had my WI today and I was 169.6 :) 10 lbs in a month. It is one month today that we will be heading to Florida for our cruise. I will try really hard to get 10 more lbs off before we go. That would be so awesome. I am very happy that I hit the 160's this week. I was so motivated before now I am even more so.
What I need to do is come up with some more recipes for my melas. I need to do that soon since I am heading back to work on monday.
Well that is all for today Going to a party tonight. Excited to see some of my coworkers and have some fun.

Another great PT session
I had an appt this afternoon for personal training and once again I was not disappointed with how I feel about the workout. I was sure feeling it right from the beginning. I really feel this one in my arms right now. I hate to see how my arms will be feeling tomorrow.
Not sure what my legs will be like but I really want to be able to run my 9K in the morning!!!!
Tonight I need to come up with some meal ideas for next week. I loved how the last 2 weeks have been with just pulling out stuff from the freezer for the majority of my meals. I did cook some suppers but for this week I hope to have a couple of things made and in bulk so I can have leftovers for suppers. I am working 3 days next week so being able to just come home and throw things in to my lunch bag makes my life so much easier and less temptations.
That is all for today. I think that I will have a good sleep tonight considering the exercise I got today.

TGIF
I can actually say TGIF. I am off this weekend and so is my husband. We both go back to work on monday. we both get to go to a stag n doe saturday night for a coworkers son. I may or may not be doing the 5K around the bay...all depends on how I feel sunday morning when I get up. I will be doing my long run, 9K, on saturday so I won't be really uspset if I miss the 5K. Next year I promise myself that I will be trained and will do the 30K. I did it last year but was not really trained for it. I will be trained for it next year. I will start training early so that if I miss any time it won't be that big of a deal.
I have a PT session at 1. My hamstrings are still tight but not as bad as they were. When I get home after the session I will make sure to do some good stretching.
I am having a hard time coming up with some meals for next week. I am really hoping that my simply for life cookbook arrives soon. I am sure that she has some good recipes in it that I can use.

On a Roll
I did it. I actually avoided any of the treats that we had at bistro last night at work. I ate what I brought and I did have some salad with minimal dressing on it. I am feeling so awesome I need to remember this feeling.
Today was a rest day but I did go for about a 5K walk which felt great. I got a couple of errands done to on my walk which is always good. I think the walk was a good idea since my mucles are still a bit tight. I probably should do a bit of stretching tonight.
Not much else to report. Having some steak pieces and veggies for supper and probably yogurt and banana for my sanck. It is hard to get all my points in after working nights.
I need to get the kitchen somewhat tidy too. Not doing a good job with my goal to have it cleaned each night before going to bed/work. will work on that.

Hamstrings
Hamstrings are the part of my body that feels so tight today and my outer thighs. All thanks to the wonderful style of lunges that I did yesterday ;) When I got home from work this morning I did something that I haven't done in a while. I did my run before heading to bed. I did a 5K that was a little tough due to the tight hamstrings and I am thinking the fact I had worked all night made it a bit tough too. Oh well. It was nice not to have to do it when I woke up.
Tonight we are having a bistro at work. I am bringing my own food in so that I have the options to stay on track. I know that if I sway tonight it could lead to some problems. I can have salad, fruit and veggies if I want to have anything at all. I counted 4 pts for salad so I will probably have a big serving of it. I do love the salad that I am picking up. What I will do is put some aside for me while I am getting it ready so that I can make sure that there is not a lot of dressing on it. Since this is my last night I will be getting a skinny vanilla latte too. That is going to be my treat for being good and I will only have it on my last night of work.

Shakey
That is the best way to describe how I feeling after my 2nd PT session. What a great workout it was. I can't believe how much of a workout we are able to do in 30 minutes. I am loving it. I have another session on friday. I am a little bit sad that I can only go 1 day next week. I am going to have to either go to the gym or do some things at home.
My eating has been ok. After my 2 days at work I have had apple and peanut butter. I need to STOP that habit of having that to eat after work. I don't really need that many calories and plus it has been upsetting my stomach during the night. Yogurt and fruit is a much better choice.
I ran 4K this morning. Not an easy run because of the weather and icy road conditions. I felt ok though with the run. It would have been a great run if better conditions I think.
All that exercise today has made me very tired. thankfully my wonderful husband can pick up the boys from school so I am going to go and try and have a nap right now. I hope to get at least 2 hours. That would be so awesome :)

Success
Yesterday I was so worried about how I would make out with eating out. It is the first time that I have eaten out since getting back on track (almost 3 weeks). I ended up with a stromboli (ate only 1/2) and a salad. When I calculated the pts I actually stayed within my daily pt range...oops just remembered something I had and did not track it so I used 3 of my flext pts which isn't bad at all. I wanted something when I got home so I had a bit of greek yogurt with cocoa and used it as a dip for my banana.
At some point during the night I woke up and my stomach was feeling a bit off. I am sure it was due to all the cheese that was in the stromboli. I brought the other half home with me but I know that I won't eat it. I am going to have to get groceries either tonight or tomorrow and make sure I have 2 full days worth of meals planned. I can't believe that my 6 days off are almost over. Because of how crappy I have felt I sure did not accomplish much on my days off :(

Pleasantly Surprised
This morning when I got up I did a 3K run which I ran with no walk breaks. Pretty happy with that. I had my breakfast which was a mixture of strawberries, apple pieces and orange pieces with 2 TBSP of slivered almonds and some greek yogurt. This is going to be such an amazing breakfast in the summer. After breakfast I just did some computer work and then I headed to my first PT session and Lean and Fit.
I wasn't really sure what to expect for the 30 min session. I am used to doing that type of stuff over 1hr. I have shakey arms as I am typing this which should tell you that I had a great workout. I can't believe how sweaty I was after those 30 minutes. My trainer is going to be great. It is a full body workout and they have you rotate through 3-4 different workouts 3 times and then another 3-4 workouts 3 times. I have to make sure that I get there 2x/week and then do something at home or the gym for the 3rd ST session of the week. I know that I will be happy with the results if my eating and exercise keep going at the rate they are now. I am sure I will be feeling those muscles that I worked later today and for sure tomorrow.
I am going through periods where I am feeling better and then feeling like crap again. I just hope i feel better by sunday. I am getting enough sleep, drinking lots of fluids and eating healthy foods.

rest day turns into 4K run
So I had planned on having today as a rest day but I ended up going for a 4K run which I felt was a good run.
I tortured myself on pintrest by looking at sweets. I know that if I eat anything like that I will cave a fall back to my old habits. I need to give them up until I learn to have things in moderation. I am not at that place yet. It really is like if an alcoholic were to take just one drink...very hard. I need to not do it unless it is something very amazing. I can imagine what something would taste like so why would I need to have it. I would reather be healthy, at a healthy weight and feeling good for life rather then a few minutes of something tasting good.
Well that is really all I have to say. Have a good night.

Rest Day
I was not planning on having a rest day today but when I got up and was quite stuffy and coughing a lot and the fact that there was snow on the round I decided to have today as a rest day. I am having a hard time not feeling guilty about it but everyone needs a rest day. Tomorrow I will make up for it with a 4K run and plus my first PT session. I am excited and nervous about this. I just can't imagine what we will do in 30 min. I am hoping it goes a bit longer but maybe I will be surprised. I need to so some ST, it has been a while. I am just hoping that what we do at Lean and Fit can be repicated easily at the gym. On sunday it will be 5 weeks until my curise. That is so crazy.
On thursday after my little mans hockey game (tournament out of town) we will all be going out for supper. I have looked at the menu trying to decide what to get. All the items are pretty high in points which is why I am going to save my flex points for that night. What I want to get is 19 points. It is a pulled pork pizza (love pulled pork). The good thing is that I usually can't eat a full individual pizza so the points won't be as much as the 19.
I did manage to get some work done around the house yesterday but not as much as I had wanted too. I need to try and get a few things done today. I am going to head to walmart soon to pick up a few things that I need. I really need to get the bathrooms clean which is on my todo list so hopefully I will be able to do that.

NSV
So it has been a week since the first sign of my cold arrived (sore throat). I am still feeling pretty bad. A cough and runny nose and squeaky voice. I hope I am better before I go back to work on sunday.
Despite how I am feeling I did a 5K run this morning. It was a little tough and had a few walk breaks but overall I am happy with how it went. I am a bit sad that I cancelled my PT session for today but I think it was for the best. I will go on thrusday no matter how I feel.

week 2 WI results
I lost 2 lbs this week for a total of 8.4 lbs in 2 weeks. I am very happy with those results. I really wanted to see the 160's this week but maybe next. To help me out with that I will try hard not to have apple and PB as a snack in the evenings. Fruit or yogurt and fruit will be my evening snack of choice.
My cold is getting worse but I did manage to run 6K. I was supposed to run 8 but I will play around some with my training schedule to get the mileage in. I am really excited for my PT sessions for this coming week. I hope that I am not disappointed.
One more night shift and then I am off for 6 days. I have plans for a productive week which I really need to follow through with.

A great day
Even though I was at work it was still a great day. I found it was a very civilized day for a friday which is always nice. I am hoping for the same thing tomorrow. I am slowly getting more of a cold which sucks. I just had one. The one I had a couple of weeks ago was not bad but this one is in my nose which I find the worst (actually the sore throat is the worst). I am just hoping it isn't too bad that I put off my long run on sunday.
I have been doing great with the eating. Tomorrow I have a 3K run schedule before work.
Going to head to bed now. Hoping for a better sleep then last night.

new accountability coming up
So I made the decision that instead of trying the bootcamp classes again that I would go for the personal training sessions instead. They were actually so awesome about this that because of the fact I hadn't really went to classes they are making it up for me by giving me extra PT sessions!!!! This will basically equal out to 36 PT sessions in 6 months. That is about 6 sessions/month which means that if I am going to see the PT that often I better keep it clean :) Now I don't feel like all the money I have spent is wasted. 6 months to get back to my happy weight and be in much better shape. I hope to learn a lot from these sessions so that when they are done I can take that knolwedge and use it when I work out at the gym. That means that just 1x/week for now at the gym to do a workout. Not bad. I should be able to fit that in to my schedule. I am so excited about doing this and already have 2 sessions booked next week. There is much more flexibility for these sessions then there was for the classes. I am going to make sure that the program I do is a full body strength training session as that will work better for me.
I baked a few things yesterday so my freezer is full of options for the next 2 weeks (maybe even longer). I will just have to keep track of what I have and make sure I restock when I run low. Making weekly menus should help me with this.
I am feeling so happy right now. my morning did not start off that way but I am feeling much better now. I did a 4K run which I think helped with that. Tomorrow I have to get up early before work and do my 3K run. I will have to do that again on saturday before work too. I need to make myself get up and do it because I know I won't want to do it after working a 12 hr shift.
I am almost done with my goal of having all the laundry done and put away. Once I do a bit more browsing on the computer I will go down and get the rest and put it away. It has been a long time since the laundry has all been done and put away. That is a weekly goal for me starting now. Another thing I want to work on is having the dishes done and put away before I go to bed at night. I had all intentions of doing that last night but did not, so that is another thing that will start today.
I made a list of things to do over the next 2 days and have alot of the little things checked off the list which is pretty good.
Well that is all for today. Back to work tomorrow. Hope this set goes by fast but my days off slower. I actually get 6 days off my next set since I am starting a day early which is always nice :)

Feeling Great
I just can't get over how awesome I am feeling right now. Exercise and diet play such a huge role in how I feel mentally as well as physically. I am on day 10 of eating healthy and it feels great. The only thing that I have had that is not clean at all was that muffin and I am trying to remember how it made me feel after I ate it. I am just working 1 night this set at work so I should be ok. Just need to remember to have lots of healthy options in my cooler.
I have a lot of cleaning to do over the next 2 days and I keep putting it off. I need to make a to do list and try to check off as many things as possible. Instead of watching TV tonight I should try and tackle some of those things on the list. I have 2 things that I need to make too before tomorrow. I will try and get them done today. Once those 2 things are done I should have enough food for my main meals for the next 2 weeks (except for breakfast...will need some fresh berries).
I did a 4K run this morning after dropping my little man of at school. It was a pretty good run. My long run this week will be on sunday and it will be 9K. I am kind of excited to see how that goes. I know that if I stick to my eating healthy this week and run according to my training program it will be not bad. I want to build up my endurance again since I do love running so much. I want to get back to where I was when I was at my peak.
I sent a message to where I do my bootcamp and I think what I am going to do is personal training instead. It shounds like I will be able to back date too for those sessions considering I have only gone to 1 bootcamp class. kind of excited about that. I will head in to the city tomorrow to talk to someone about that and try and get things set up.
I can't believe how fast time is going. Before I know it we will be packing for our cruise which means i have to stay so focused on eating healthy and exercising. Like I said before I want to look and feel awesome on this trip.

bootcamp
I loved my bootcamp classes when I was going to them regularly a couple of years ago. I do believe that these really did help me when I lost all my weight before. I joined a program back in august in the city and I have only gone once. How awful is that. I am thinking about going to 2 classes this week, tues and wed. These are the only days that will work this week. I want to give them another chance. All I can do is my best and if I don't like it I will see if I can maybe use my monthly payment for some personal training instead. I found it so crowded and the instructor reminded me of one our friends which is not necessarily what I want in an intructor ;)
Last night I was having a hard time trying to figure out what to have for supper but I ended up having a turkey burger instead. I have now had 8 fully successful days of eating mostly healthy foods and tracking all the food I eat. I need to stay focused and get 2 weeks under my belt.
I am going to have to go get my groceries for the week at some point this morning. I just need to make a menu for the boys and then I will go and get them. I just want to finsih my coffee and make sure to have a complete grocery list so I don't overspend on my groceries for the week.
Have a productive monday.

Week 1 results
I had a full week of eating healthy and getting in some exercise and it felt great. I ended the week with a 7K run which was very tough. Doing a longer run after my 2nd night is bound to be tough. Thankfully the way things work out next week I will have a 9K run on sunday which means I will do it when I get up in the morning just like a regular day which hopefully will make for a better run. Tomorrow I am hoping to get up early and go to the gym. In order to try and do this I will head to bed at 9. I will have to get up at 5:30 if I want to go to the gym and be back before my husband has to go to work.
So the results on the scale for week one is a loss of 6.4 lbs :) That made me feel very happy. I have a goal in mind for my WI next sunday but really as long as I can get through my 2nd week of eating healthy and tracking will make me feel great. I haven't had 2 weeks of being on track for a very long time. I am hoping the fact that I have my menu made for the week will be helpful.
Tomorrow I am going to do some house work and then get my groceries and have my meals made for the week. This is very helpful for me to stay on track. When your foods are all made in advance it is so much easier to avoid picking while cooking your foods because all I have to do is reheat my foods. There is a lot of prep in doing this but if it leads to positive results it is so worth it. I so would love to be in the 150's for when we go on our cruise. I know that if I keep this up I will be able to do it.

TGIF
I dont' always get to say that. I guess as a shift worker that tends to work 4 out of 6 weekends (not always full weekends but some full some partial with only 2 full weekends off) that term is not really used :( I sent a message to my husband today telling him that I sometimes get jealous of couples that I see out and about during the week days. We never really get to do that as he works mon-fri. He told me that he should be able to get off at noon today. That will work for me :)

I have been doing so good with my eating and feel great. I always seems to do well for 1 week and then I fall off the wagon. I am hoping to get through a 2nd week too and then we will keep going from there. Once 3 weeks are in things are a bit easier.
8 weeks until we go on our cruise. I did not realize that it is that soon. I need to do an 8 week challenge to look my best on this cruise. Basically what this challenge will include is:
eat clean
exercise
drink water
On sunday after I get up I will be doing my 1 week WI. I will post the results on sunday or monday. I have to remember to not be discouraged by the number on the scale but focus on how I feel.
